The BUX finished Monday's session slightly higher as gains in most major Hungarian blue chips offset weakness in MOL. The Budapest Stock Exchange index closed at 145,330.02 points on November 2, 2026, up 72.68 points, or 0.05 percent, from Friday's close.
According to T?zsdefórum, the session's equity-market turnover was HUF 15.6 billion. The report described the day's trading as mixed, with the index fluctuating only modestly around the previous close.
Telekom leads blue-chip performance
Magyar Telekom was the strongest of the leading shares, rising 2.71 percent to HUF 2,876. OTP gained 0.12 percent to HUF 41,850, while Richter advanced 0.39 percent to HUF 13,000. MOL moved in the opposite direction, losing 1 percent to HUF 4,950.
The closing report cited analyst Czibere Ákos of Equilor Befektetési Zrt., who said international influences were the main driver of prices. In his assessment, the decline in global oil prices pressured MOL, while investors' preference for less risky shares supported Magyar Telekom.
International backdrop remains relevant
A separate market update by Portfolio reported that markets received a boost after Iran's supreme leader authorized the government to pursue negotiations. The same update said the BUX was about 0.1 percent higher during the session and reported gains in OTP, Richter and Magyar Telekom alongside a 1 percent decline in MOL.
The BUX is the Budapest Stock Exchange's continuously calculated blue-chip index, denominated in Hungarian forint, according to the Budapest Stock Exchange. Further coverage is available on the BUX topic page.
