Cardano price: CIP-0113 gains a route into Swiss tokenized shares

Cardano price coverage is increasingly tied to the network's push into regulated tokenized assets. The Cardano Foundation's CMTA membership improves access to Swiss market-infrastructure standards, but individual issuances still require separate reviews.

Cardano expands regulated-asset route

  • Cardano Foundation joined Switzerland's CMTA on October 29, 2026.
  • CMTA recognized a reviewed CIP-0113 implementation as technically equivalent to CMTAT for tokenized-share certification.
  • The recognition excludes tokenized debt, Cardano's base-layer infrastructure and automatic certification of individual issuances.
  • Cardano's October 29 development update also reported ongoing Leios benchmarking and preparation for Node 11.2.

Cardano's latest development is institutional rather than a direct token catalyst: the Cardano Foundation joined Switzerland's Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) on October 29, 2026. The move follows CMTA recognition of a reviewed Cardano implementation of the CIP-0113 programmable-token standard for its certification process for tokenized shares.

According to crypto.news, the recognition treats the specific reviewed implementation as technically equivalent to CMTA's CMTAT reference framework for equity securities. It does not amount to a blanket approval of every CIP-0113 deployment, nor does it certify individual issuers or share offerings.

What the recognition covers

CIP-0113 went live on Cardano mainnet on October 7. The Cardano Foundation says the standard allows issuers to attach compliance rules to native tokens, including identity checks, transfer restrictions and other controls needed for regulated assets. Cardano's own announcement says the framework is designed to keep programmable assets native to the network while allowing compliance logic to be enforced during transfers, minting and burning.

The CMTA decision is narrower than the wider tokenization narrative. It applies to tokenized equity securities and excludes the association's tokenized-debt certification program and Cardano's underlying blockchain infrastructure. Issuers must still satisfy Swiss legal and technical requirements for each issuance, so the development lowers a standards barrier without creating immediate demand for ADA.

Network work continues

A separate October 29 Cardano development update reported preliminary benchmarking of the Leios prototype and its Week42 build, alongside work preparing Node 11.2. The update also described infrastructure benchmarks for Dijkstra-related functionality and continued work on tracing improvements.

For investors, the relevant distinction is between technical progress and token economics. The CMTA development gives Cardano a clearer route into regulated tokenized capital markets, while the Leios and Node 11.2 work addresses network capacity and operations. Neither announcement, by itself, demonstrates that adoption or transaction demand for ADA has increased.

The Cardano price therefore remains a separate market question from the network's standards progress. The latest developments may improve the project's institutional positioning, but their effect on ADA depends on actual deployments, usage and broader crypto-market conditions.
