Ethereum price remains under pressure after another round of withdrawals from U.S. spot Ether exchange-traded funds and continued uncertainty around the network's next major upgrade. Crypto.news reported Ether at 2,317.78 USD on October 29, a decline of 2.12 percent.
ETF outflows remain a headwind
U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded net outflows of 21.41 million USD on October 28, according to the report. It was the third consecutive session of withdrawals. Outflows had reached 88.58 million USD on October 26 and 60.22 million USD on October 27, bringing the three-session total to 170.21 million USD.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust, known by the ticker ETHA, accounted for 44.83 million USD of the October 28 withdrawals. Inflows into competing funds partly offset that figure, indicating that the latest data reflected both redemptions and shifts between products rather than uniformly one-sided activity.
Glamsterdam timeline is uncertain
Ethereum developers also postponed the planned Glamsterdam activation on the Hoodi testnet. The test had been scheduled for October 26, but developers sought more time to assess compatibility concerns involving EIP-8037 and existing smart contracts. The upgrade had already activated on the Sepolia testnet on October 6. No replacement Hoodi date or confirmed mainnet rollout schedule had been announced in the cited report.
For holders, the delay concerns a test network rather than a required action on Ethereum's mainnet. It nevertheless removes a near-term protocol milestone while developers continue their review. The Ethereum Foundation's official website lists Glamsterdam-related development updates and identifies the project as an open network for smart contracts and decentralized applications.
Key levels for the market
Crypto.news identified the 2,290 to 2,300 USD area as immediate support after Ether briefly tested 2,300 USD. A sustained move below that range could expose the market to 2,200 USD and then 2,100 USD, according to the technical analysis cited by the publication. On the upside, buyers would need to reclaim 2,400 USD before a possible test of 2,500 USD. These are reference levels, not forecasts or trading instructions.
The combination of ETF redemptions and a delayed testnet milestone leaves the near-term picture dependent on whether fund outflows ease and whether ETH can hold the 2,300 USD area. Investors can follow further coverage on the Ethereum topic page.
