Ethereum price steadies as record ETF outflows test institutional demand

The Ethereum price is being tested by a record monthly outflow from US spot Ether ETFs. Ether remains above 2,280 US dollars, but regulated-market demand weakened sharply in October.

Ethereum demand faces a tougher test

  • Ether was priced at 2,281.82 US dollars at 12:30 Berlin time on November 2, 2026, according to Fortune.
  • US spot Ether ETFs recorded 1.61 billion US dollars in net outflows during October, their largest monthly outflow since launch.
  • ETF redemptions continued for 23 consecutive trading days through October 30, according to a report citing Glassnode data.
  • The flow data point to weaker regulated-market demand, but they do not cover directly held or staked Ether.

The Ethereum price was 2,281.82 US dollars at 6:30 a.m. Eastern Time on November 2, equivalent to 12:30 Berlin time, according to Fortune. The publication compared that level with 2,266.49 US dollars the previous morning, but that comparison is not a UTC daily close.

ETF demand turned negative

The main recent pressure point is institutional flow. Yahoo Finance reported that US spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds lost 1.61 billion US dollars in October. It described the figure as the largest monthly outflow since the products launched in July 2024, ending a three-month inflow run. The funds had attracted a combined 3.05 billion US dollars from July through September before the reversal.

The same report said ETF net assets fell to 13.22 billion US dollars from 17.60 billion US dollars during October. Ether also declined 16.1 percent in the month, according to the report. Those figures describe a difficult October, but they do not establish that ETF redemptions alone caused the token's price move.

A prolonged withdrawal streak

The withdrawal trend continued beyond the monthly data. Bloomingbit, citing Wu Blockchain and Glassnode, reported 23 consecutive trading days of net outflows through November 1. Glassnode characterized the withdrawals as weakening demand for Ethereum exposure among traditional financial-market participants. The report did not provide cumulative outflow figures or a breakdown by individual fund.

What investors should watch

ETF flows measure demand through regulated investment vehicles, not the entire Ether market. They exclude coins held directly in wallets and activity connected with staking, decentralized applications or other on-chain uses. A sustained improvement in ETF flows would therefore be a clearer sign that this particular source of buying interest is returning, while continued redemptions would keep institutional demand in focus.

Ethereum.org describes Ethereum as an open network for digital assets, data and applications. That broader utility remains distinct from short-term fund flows, but the latest figures show that the investment-vehicle channel is currently a headwind. Further price interpretation should use a properly dated UTC comparison rather than treating an intraday quote as a daily performance figure.
