Technology weakness drives the retreat
Communications equipment, semiconductor and securities shares were among the weakest groups in the FTSE China A50 constituent-stock session, while banks advanced, Capital Futures said. The sector rotation matched a broader retreat in Chinese growth stocks.
Chinese equities also faced pressure from renewed geopolitical tensions and higher global yields. Reuters said the CSI 300 fell 1.1 percent and identified the renewed tensions and rising yields as factors weighing on mainland shares, while energy, property and banking stocks gained, according to Reuters.
