- HYPE was displayed at 86.374 USD on October 30, up 10.23 percent from Investing.com's October 29 daily close of 78.360 USD.
- ForkLog reported that 49.87 million HYPE had been permanently removed from supply, including a 19,700-token burn on October 28.
- A scheduled November 6 core-contributor unlock lists 9,916,667 HYPE, although scheduled tokens are not necessarily distributed or sold.
The Hyperliquid price was displayed at 86.374 USD on October 30, according to Investing.com. Against the same source's October 29 daily close of 78.360 USD, that represents a calculated gain of 10.23 percent. The comparison uses the prior UTC daily close rather than a rolling 24-hour change.
Supply Reduction Supports the Token Case
Recent supply data provide a fundamental counterpoint to the price volatility. ForkLog reported on October 29 that Hyperliquid had permanently removed 49.87 million HYPE, equivalent to 4.99 percent of the token's stated 1 billion maximum supply. The report said a further 19,700 HYPE were burned on October 28, valued at about 1.59 million USD at the time. It also cited estimated daily fees of 1.69 million USD and cumulative protocol revenue of 1.38 billion USD.
Hyperliquid's own website describes HYPE as the network's native token, used for staking, governance, gas fees, trading-fee discounts and asset-deployment fees. It states that 99 percent of protocol revenue is directed to the Assistance Fund, which purchases HYPE and burns tokens held there. That mechanism links potential token demand to activity on the network, but it does not eliminate the effects of market-wide risk aversion or new issuance.
November Unlock Remains a Risk
The supply picture is not exclusively deflationary. A Fomoed analysis published October 27 said Tokenomist listed a core-contributor unlock of 9,916,667 HYPE for November 6, 2026. At the article's cited price of about 77 USD, the scheduled tranche was valued at roughly 765 million USD.
That figure should not be read as a forecast of immediate selling. The same analysis noted that scheduled tokens are not necessarily distributed in full and that unlocked tokens may be held, staked or sold. Nevertheless, the event can increase short-term uncertainty because the market must absorb a much larger potential supply than the recent daily burn.
What Investors Should Watch
The current setup combines strong recent price momentum with two opposing token-flow signals. The burn demonstrates that protocol fees can remove HYPE from supply, while the scheduled unlock shows that supply expansion can still matter. The more durable support for the token therefore depends on whether trading activity and fee generation remain high enough to offset future unlocks. Investors should also distinguish the protocol's HYPE mechanism from corporate buybacks by companies holding the token: those transactions are not automatically purchases of HYPE.
