- The Ibovespa rose 1.39% to 168,498.45 points on Friday, November 6, 2026.
- Positive third-quarter earnings and a recovery on Wall Street supported the session, while fiscal policy signals remained in focus.
- The index gained 0.34% over the week after recovering from the previous session's 0.82% decline.
Brazil's Ibovespa closed Friday, November 6, 2026, at 168,498.45 points, up 1.39% from Thursday's close of 166,191.45. The session marked a recovery after the previous day's 0.82% decline and left the benchmark up 0.34% for the week. The figures were reported by Valor Economico.
Earnings and global markets support rebound
The index traded between 165,909.74 and 169,073.04 points during the session. Valor Economico attributed the advance to gains spread across the market, positive third-quarter results and a more supportive external backdrop. The S&P 500 gained 0.31% and the Nasdaq rose 1.09% as US technology shares recovered part of the previous session's sell-off, while the Dow Jones slipped 0.46%.
The day's move followed a difficult international setup. In its market outlook published before the session, B3's Bora Investir said the previous day's technology sell-off had spread across global markets and identified the US employment report as a key event for investors. The report also recorded Thursday's Ibovespa close at 166,191.45 points.
Fiscal signals remain a market focus
Domestic policy expectations remained part of the market assessment. Investors were looking for signals on the economic plans of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's new administration, including the prospect of fiscal adjustment. The rebound therefore improved the week's result but did not by itself establish a lasting change in trend.
Trading volume reached 23.6 billion Brazilian reais on the Ibovespa and 31.6 billion reais across B3, according to Valor Economico. For investors, the session combined a technical recovery from recent losses with support from company earnings and global risk sentiment, while fiscal policy remains an important variable for the Brazilian market.
