IDX Composite closes 0.75 percent lower as oil and BYAN weigh

IDX Composite reverses early gain
The index opened at 6,210.42 points and traded between 6,136.19 and 6,214.76 before ending lower, according to Kompas. The market breadth was negative, with 390 stocks declining, 280 advancing and 293 unchanged.
Energy was the weakest sector, falling 1.56 percent, while the financial sector edged up 0.02 percent, the same BEI-based account said.
BYAN and oil prices pressure the market
Bayan Resources was among the large-cap stocks weighing on the index. Its shares fell 6.69 percent to IDR 12,550, while a major negotiated-market transaction in the stock lifted total trading activity, Liputan6 reported.
Brent crude rose back above USD 101 per barrel amid concerns over potential supply disruptions linked to attacks and weather risks. The move renewed inflation and interest-rate concerns across Asian markets, according to CNBC Indonesia.
Domestic data and the next session
Bank Indonesia reported foreign-exchange reserves of USD 146.3 billion at the end of September, down from USD 146.5 billion in August. The reserves covered 5.3 months of imports, ANTARA said.
Attention now turns to the Federal Reserve's September meeting minutes, scheduled for release at 1:00 a.m. WIB on October 8, 2026. The minutes will offer details on the decision to raise the federal funds rate by 25 basis points to a 3.75 percent to 4.00 percent range, according to CNBC Indonesia. Global investors will focus on officials' views about inflation and further rate increases, while oil prices remain a key external factor, Reuters reported.
