IDX Composite closes 0.75 percent lower as sectors lead losses

The index opened at 6,210.42 and reached an intraday high of 6,214.76 before selling pressure pushed it to a low of 6,136.19, data cited by Kompas showed. The closing decline amounted to 46.21 points.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing shares 399 to 264, while 165 stocks finished unchanged, according to the closing market summary carried by Investing.com.
Sector pressure and market environment
Infrastructure, financial and agriculture shares were the main sources of weakness in the session. Energy stocks also fell sharply during the day, with the sector down 2.4 percent at midday, according to CNBC Indonesia.
In currency and commodity markets, the rupiah strengthened 0.04 percent to IDR17,900 per USD on October 6, while Brent crude fell to USD98.85 per barrel and WTI declined to USD87.88, according to BRIDS.
