IDX Composite closes up 17 points as technology leads

The IDX Composite closed at 5,943 points on October 14, gaining 17 points or 0.3 percent. Technology stocks led the advance, rising 2.76 percent, Databoks reported.
TRON was the strongest stock, rising 34.7 percent. The move came as the index recovered from its previous session's 5,926-point close, according to Okezone Economy.
Why did technology lead the IDX Composite?
Eight of the 11 IDX-IC sectors finished higher. Technology gained 2.76 percent, followed by property at 1.78 percent and primary consumer goods at 0.41 percent.
Energy fell 0.59 percent, while non-primary consumer goods declined 0.72 percent. Infrastructure slipped 0.19 percent. The market breadth was weaker than the index suggests: 321 stocks fell, 280 rose and 194 were unchanged, Databoks said.
IDX Composite swings between 5,907 and 6,010
The index opened at 5,941 points and reached an intraday high of 6,010. It later touched a low of 5,907 before ending at 5,943, according to Viva.
