The MDAX closed at 30,657 points on October 16, 2026, gaining 440 points or 1.5 percent. Stronger company updates and easing global bond yields supported the rebound, t-online reported.
Nordex rose 12.7 percent in early afternoon trading after raising its full-year margin outlook on stronger quarterly results, t-online reported. Aixtron also advanced after order intake and operating profitability exceeded analyst expectations.
Nordex and Aixtron lead the MDAX rebound
Nordex's preliminary third-quarter EBITDA was expected at EUR 278 million, compared with EUR 136 million a year earlier. The company lifted its 2026 EBITDA margin outlook to 11.5 percent to 12.5 percent from 8.0 percent to 11.0 percent, n-tv reported.
Aixtron reported preliminary third-quarter orders of EUR 275 million against analyst expectations of EUR 215 million. Its operating margin reached 31 percent, versus an expected 26 percent.
Why did the MDAX gain 1.5 percent?
Rate concerns eased after Federal Reserve signals reduced expectations for another October increase. Technology shares recovered part of their previous losses, while lower global yields supported European equities, Yahoo Finance reported.
Eurozone inflation rose to 3.8 percent in September from 3.2 percent in August. The reading kept price pressure in focus, but it did not prevent the MDAX from extending its recovery.
