PSI 20 closes 0.92 percent lower as higher yields hit Lisbon stocks

Single stocks and breadth
Thirteen of the 16 PSI 20 constituents declined and three advanced. Altri led the losses, falling 3.58 percent to EUR 4.310, followed by Mota-Engil, down 3.40 percent to EUR 4.662. Teixeira Duarte lost 2.81 percent, NOS fell 2.31 percent and BCP declined 2.19 percent, according to Executive Digest.
Sonae was the strongest gainer, rising 1.48 percent to EUR 2.06. Ibersol added 0.81 percent and Galp Energia advanced 0.23 percent. Portugal's 10-year government bond yield rose to 3.98 percent, an increase of 4.58 basis points, as the broader European bond market came under pressure.
Events for the next session
The European Central Bank is scheduled to publish the account of its September 9-10 policy meeting on October 8 at 12:30 p.m. WET. ECB President Christine Lagarde and Executive Board member Piero Cipollone are also scheduled to attend the Eurogroup meeting in Luxembourg.
The account follows the Federal Reserve minutes released on October 7 and will give investors another central-bank policy reference for the next PSI 20 session.
