Ripple submitted SEC comments on October 20
Ripple submitted a comment letter on October 20 supporting the SEC's proposed Regulation Crypto Assets framework, according to Brave New Coin. The company requested changes to the treatment of investment contracts, digital assets and secondary-market transactions.
The report also said the comment letter did not change XRP's legal status and did not guarantee that the SEC would accept Ripple's requested revisions. That distinction leaves the regulatory development separate from the token's market data on October 25.
ETF outflows followed a 13-week inflow streak
U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds, which hold XRP through regulated fund structures, recorded 1.84 million USD in net outflows for the week ended October 16, ending a 13-week inflow streak, according to Yahoo Finance, citing SoSoValue. The same report put XRP Ledger payment volume at 119.5 million XRP on October 17, down 72.3 percent from the prior day and below the 30-day average of 629.3 million XRP.
The report noted that one weak payment-volume day does not by itself establish a structural decline in network use. A separate integration announced on October 14 also uses RLUSD on the XRP Ledger rather than confirming a direct XRP purchase requirement, according to Ripple.
DriveWealth partnership discussion is set for October 28
DriveWealth and Ripple plan to discuss their partnership at a Ripple Swell fireside chat on October 28 in New York City, according to Ripple. The announcement covers stablecoin settlement, payments, custody and institutional infrastructure, with RLUSD identified as the settlement asset on the XRP Ledger.
