Shanghai Composite heads into Thursday at 3,842.19 after holiday closure

Holiday closure
The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges suspended trading from October 1 through October 7 and are scheduled to resume on October 8, InvestingLive reported. Stock Connect trading is also suspended during the mainland holiday and is scheduled to resume when the exchanges reopen.
Last session
Health care and consumer staples led the September 30 advance, while information technology dropped 1.87 percent as semiconductor stocks weakened, according to Aurelian Data Services. The reopening will follow a seven-day market closure and a full week of developments in overseas markets.
The next scheduled Shanghai Composite session is Thursday, October 8, 2026.
