TAIEX falls from the open to the session low
The index opened at 49,783 points, reached a high of 49,783 points and fell to a low of 49,190 points, UDN reported. Decliners outnumbered advancers, with 551 stocks lower and 437 higher.
Financial shares dropped 1.7 percent and electronics fell 1.1 percent. Textile stocks rose 0.8 percent, while plastics gained 0.4 percent, according to UDN.
