Why is the VIX lower today?
WTI crude oil fell 0.6 percent to USD 101.14 a barrel, while Brent crude declined 0.7 percent to USD 114.97. The retreat in oil accompanied higher U.S. equities and reduced the immediate pressure on volatility, Barrons reported.
Consumer confidence rose to 91.7 in October from 84.2 in September, exceeding the expected 81.0, Yahoo Finance reported. Durable goods orders also beat expectations, according to Fintech TV.
