AbbVie and Genmab reported positive topline results from the Phase 3 EPCORE DLBCL-2 trial on October 5, 2026. The study evaluated fixed-duration subcutaneous epcoritamab in combination with R-CHOP against R-CHOP alone in newly diagnosed patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and an International Prognostic Index score of 2 to 5. GlobeNewswire reported the company announcement.
Phase 3 lymphoma study
The trial demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival. The risk of disease progression or death was reduced by 51 percent in the overall study population, with a hazard ratio of 0.49 and a p-value below 0.0001. The safety profile of epcoritamab combined with R-CHOP was generally well tolerated and consistent with the previously reported safety profiles of the individual treatments. The release said the primary-endpoint population also showed a 51 percent reduction in the risk of progression or death.
Regulatory discussions planned
Genmab and AbbVie said they will engage global regulatory authorities to determine next steps. Epcoritamab plus R-CHOP remains an investigational combination and is not approved by regulatory authorities, according to the October 5 announcement. The trial is ongoing, and the companies said the data will be submitted for presentation at a future medical meeting. GlobeNewswire identified AbbVie as a co-developer of epcoritamab through its oncology collaboration with Genmab.
