CEO succession plan
In a September 3, 2026 release, Albemarle Corporation said Ragnar “Rag” Udd had been appointed president and chief executive officer effective February 1, 2027. Udd will also join the company’s board of directors.
Current Chairman and CEO Kent Masters is scheduled to become executive chairman when Udd joins the company. Albemarle said Masters will serve as executive chairman through the date of the company’s 2027 annual meeting of shareholders, after which the role will be reviewed as part of the board’s annual director nomination process. The company said Udd currently serves as chief commercial officer at BHP and has more than 25 years of experience leading global resources businesses.
