Kentucky Power expands TeraWulf agreement
American Electric Power operating company Kentucky Power said on October 5, 2026, that it had finalized an amended agreement with TeraWulf that would increase contracted electric demand at the Muskie Data campus in Kentucky from 500 megawatts to 1 gigawatt. If approved by the Kentucky Public Service Commission, the agreement is expected to provide $100 million in winter bill credits for Kentucky Power residential customers over the first 10 years. The company said a typical residential customer could receive approximately $25 per month during the winter heating season, with credits beginning in 2029.
The agreement also advances delivery of TeraWulfâs second 500-megawatt phase from 2030 to 2029, subject to Commission approval and Kentucky Powerâs construction schedule. Kentucky Power plans to file the amended contract and seek related regulatory approvals later this year, according to the company release.
