2027-2029 strategy
In a September 15, 2026 press release, AXA announced its “Growing Forward” plan for 2027 to 2029. The insurer said it aims to accelerate customer-driven organic growth, scale artificial intelligence and leverage its diversified insurance model.
AXA set a target for underlying earnings per share to grow at a compound annual rate of 7.00 percent to 9.00 percent from 2026 to 2029. It also targets underlying return on equity of 15.00 percent to 17.00 percent over 2027 to 2029, cumulative organic cash upstream of approximately EUR 25 billion and a total payout ratio target of 75.00 percent.
For 2026, AXA said it expects underlying earnings per share growth at the top end of its existing 6.00 percent to 8.00 percent target range and underlying return on equity at the top end of its 14.00 percent to 16.00 percent range. The company said these expectations reflect its current forecasts and assume no significant deterioration in operating, pricing and market conditions.
