BlackRock stock: company commits CAD 15 million to Canadian skilled trades

BlackRock announced on September 15, 2026, a CAD 15 million philanthropic commitment over three years to support the next generation of Canada’s skilled-trades workers through BlackRock Future Builders.
Initial program targets Canadian training
BlackRock said the first phase will support the Iron Workers District Council of Western Canada, including pre-apprenticeship training, advanced welding training and certification, and national training capacity in mass timber.
Nearly 3,000 participants expected
BlackRock said the initial grant is expected to support nearly 3,000 participants across Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and Atlantic Canada over the three-year commitment period.
