September vehicle sales declined year over year
In a Hong Kong Exchange filing dated October 1, BYD Company Limited reported September 2026 new-energy vehicle sales of 463,561 units. That was down 3.94 percent from 396,270 units in September 2025. Year-to-date new-energy vehicle sales reached 3,131,576 units through September, down 3.94 percent from the same period a year earlier.
Battery-electric vehicle sales rose 1.50 percent year over year to 273,143 units in September, while plug-in hybrid sales fell 10.19 percent to 183,570 units. The company said September new-energy vehicle exports totaled 180,700 units. The reported production and sales figures were unaudited.
