Chunghwa Telecom stock reports Guatemala subsidiary launch

Chunghwa Telecom has established a subsidiary in Guatemala as it expands its enterprise information and communications technology business from North America into Latin America and the Caribbean. Developing Telecoms reported the development on October 6, 2026.
Guatemala positioned as regional base
Chunghwa Telecom Global, Guatemala was established in Guatemala City on October 1. The company plans to use the unit as a regional base for ICT and cybersecurity services for governments and businesses across Central and South America. Developing Telecoms said the subsidiary will target Taiwanese businesses expanding into the region as well as local government and enterprise customers.
Digital infrastructure focus
The report said Taiwan and Guatemala also signed an agreement supporting a resilient backup data center project for Guatemala’s Ministry of Public Finance. Chunghwa Telecom’s international business branch was represented at the signing, according to Developing Telecoms.
