Comerica franchise integration
Fifth Third Bancorp said on September 8, 2026, that it had completed the technical conversion of approximately 600,000 customer accounts and 293 banking centers from the Comerica franchise across Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan and Texas. The conversion was executed over Labor Day weekend and moved Comerica consumer and commercial customers onto Fifth Third’s platforms, according to the Fifth Third release.
The company said the milestone completed the integration that began when Fifth Third and Comerica merged on February 1, 2026. Fifth Third stated that the combined company operates on one platform and under one brand, giving former Comerica customers access to its consumer, commercial, payments and wealth services.
Expanded banking network
Fifth Third said the combined network includes approximately 1,500 branches and 21,300 ATMs. The bank also reported that it now operates 107 financial centers in Texas and plans to invest nearly USD 1 billion there over the next five years, including opening 150 new financial centers by 2029, according to the same issuer release.
