New South America service planned
COSCO Shipping Holdings plans to launch a third weekly service between the Far East and the East Coast of South America in December 2026, Container News reported on October 1. The ESA3 service is scheduled to begin from Ningbo around December 17, with calls planned at Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Santos, Navegantes, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Coega and Hong Kong. The Coega call remains subject to terminal confirmation in October.
Earlier Southeast Asia expansion
In a September 3 company update, COSCO Shipping Holdings said it had launched a fixed-weekly direct shipping route connecting Eastern Guangdong with Indonesia. The company also said Hainan COSCO SHIPPING Container Shipping, a subsidiary, had established an end-to-end logistics chain for seafood shipments using smart refrigerated containers.
