AI-glasses lineup expands
On September 24, EssilorLuxottica and Meta Platforms unveiled a new generation of AI glasses at Meta Connect, according to an EssilorLuxottica release. The companies announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a camera-free line, and Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, alongside additional models, features and geographic expansion.
New models and features
The release said Ray-Ban Meta Audio would launch in Clubmaster and Burbank styles and weigh as little as 43 grams. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 will offer a slimmer design, longer battery life and a customizable action button, with 27 color and lens combinations. The companies also announced Meta’s personal AI agent, Muse, for their AI glasses in the United States.
Broader retail reach
EssilorLuxottica and Meta said their portfolio would exceed 100 AI-glasses styles by the end of 2026. EssilorLuxottica also announced expansion into Poland, Portugal, Israel, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia and the Philippines in the coming months, while pre-orders for selected products would begin progressively in France, Italy and Germany.
