August traffic data
In a September 11 release, Fraport said around 6.3 million passengers traveled through Frankfurt Airport in August 2026. That was 0.3 percent below August 2025, although the figure represented a new monthly record for 2026.
Fraport reported that cargo volumes at Frankfurt increased 2.9 percent year over year to 179,400 metric tons. Aircraft movements fell 4.6 percent to 40,968 takeoffs and landings. Across all airports actively managed by Fraport, passenger traffic rose 2.1 percent year over year to around 24.1 million.
New Brazilian airport operation
Fraport Brasil S.A. Aeroporto de Fortaleza, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fraport AG, assumed operations of Jericoacoara Airport in northeastern Brazil on September 1. The airport was added to the existing Fortaleza concession, which runs through 2047. Fraport Brasil committed to modernizing the airport over the next three years.
