FDA cites manufacturing violations
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a September 22 warning letter that significant violations were observed during an inspection of Fresenius Kabi USA LLC's drug manufacturing facility in Melrose Park, Illinois, from January 27 to February 18, 2026. The letter identified deficiencies involving batch investigations, aseptic processing and visual inspection of sterile injectable products. The FDA warning letter was addressed to Fresenius Kabi AG.
Kabi response
Dow Jones Newswires, carried by TradingView, reported that Kabi said no patient-safety concerns had been identified, the Melrose Park site remained operational and significant disruptions to products currently on the market were not expected. The report said Kabi was taking action to address the FDA's findings.
