European footprint and Peru expansion
In a September 16 release, Heidelberg Materials said Heidelberg Materials France plans a restructuring that would result in the closure of its Ranville cement plant in Normandy. The company said weak construction demand in France had led to a significant decline in cement volumes. The planned closure would affect 87 employees.
Separately, Heidelberg Materials said on September 8 that it had entered into a binding agreement to acquire a 70 percent majority stake in Peru-based Cementos Inka. The target operates two grinding units with combined annual capacity of 1.3 million tonnes and two ready-mixed concrete plants, according to the company release. The transaction is expected to close by October 2026, and further financial terms were not disclosed.
