ZG Technology acquisition
In a September 7, 2026 release, Hexagon said it had acquired the remaining 49 percent of Wuhan ZG Automation Technology, bringing its ownership of the 3D scanning specialist to 100 percent. Hexagon said it had held a 51 percent majority stake since August 2021 and that the acquisition had no material impact on its financial results.
The company said ZG develops handheld 3D scanning technology for applications including quality inspection, reverse engineering and the digitization of complex parts. Hexagon also said the acquisition would support a unified handheld scanning platform within its Manufacturing Intelligence business area.
