Match Group highlighted product-development changes at Tinder and a relaunch of its Upward brand in company updates published in September. The company’s listed shares trade under the ticker MTCH on Nasdaq.
Tinder focuses on speed and artificial intelligence
In a September 18 update, Match Group said Tinder’s engineering team was shipping at twice the velocity of a year earlier. The company also said more than 90% of new code at Tinder was AI-generated, with engineers responsible for reviewing and validating the work.
Match Group said Tinder had reduced the prevalence of bots and other bad actors by more than 60%. The app has also introduced features including Double Date and Events and is working to make recommendations respond more quickly to member behavior and preferences.
Upward relaunch adds marriage-focused features
Match Group said in a September 22 release that Upward had relaunched as a dating service for people dating with marriage in mind. The updated experience includes Chivalry Mode, Marriage Timeline and Core Values, which are designed to make dating preferences and relationship goals more visible earlier in the process.
Match Group said its 2026 Singles in America study found that 72% of Gen Z respondents wanted to get married. Upward is part of Match Group’s portfolio, which also includes Tinder and Hinge.
