MediaTek stock: Dimensity 9600 Pro launch highlights 2nm smartphone chip

MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9600 Pro on September 15, 2026, describing it as a flagship smartphone system-on-chip built on a 2nm process. The company said the chip delivers up to 17% higher single-core performance, up to 15% higher multi-core performance and a 61% reduction in multi-core power consumption compared with the previous generation. MediaTek said the first smartphones using the Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600M are expected to launch during the third quarter of 2026.
AI and semiconductor collaboration
In a separate announcement dated August 31, 2026, NVIDIA said MediaTek would adopt its NVLink Fusion platform for custom AI infrastructure. NVIDIA also said it invested USD 3.5 billion in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek. The companies described additional collaboration spanning local AI computing and automotive platforms. NVIDIA identified MediaTek as TWSE-listed company 2454.
