Capital increase supports GCG acquisition
In a September 29 release, GlobeNewswire reported that Rexel successfully placed 14,388,490 new shares at EUR 34.75 each, generating gross proceeds of approximately EUR 500 million before commissions and expenses. Rexel said the net proceeds would partially finance its planned acquisition of GCG.
Rexel announced the GCG transaction on September 25. According to the company’s investor release, the agreement with Audax Private Equity values GCG at an enterprise value of approximately USD 1.4 billion. Rexel said the transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
