Interconnected risks in focus

In a September 25 release distributed through EQS News Service, Swiss Re Ltd said a joint analysis by Swiss Re Institute and the London School of Economics found 24.00 percent more links between risks reported by 91 Fortune-100 companies than in 2019. The release identified artificial intelligence and supply chains as key points of connection that could allow shocks to spread across sectors.

Swiss Re also said the share of companies reporting AI and new-technology risks increased by around 30.00 percent between 2019 and 2026. The analysis noted that the findings measure changes in companies’ reported risk perceptions, rather than changes in systemic risk itself.

Reinsurance protection needs

In a September 7 Swiss Re release, the company said insured natural catastrophe losses continue to follow a 5.00 to 7.00 percent annual growth rate, driven by increasing exposures, rising asset values and changing hazard patterns. Swiss Re’s modeling indicated that insured losses could reach around USD 320 billion in a 2026 peak-loss scenario.
