OPAL stake sale agreed
On September 14, 2026, Uniper agreed to sell its 20 percent stake in the OPAL transmission corridor to Hy24. The transaction involves the sale of 100 percent of Lubmin-Brandov Assets GmbH & Co. KG, which holds the stake in OPAL, according to Hy24.
OPAL spans approximately 470 kilometers from northeastern Germany to the German-Czech border. Its northern section was converted to transport hydrogen in mid-December 2025, while full corridor conversion is expected by the end of 2030. The divestment forms part of remedies Uniper must implement under European Union state-aid rules. Completion remains subject to required regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, the release said.
