Digital portfolio expanded
In a corporate news release dated September 15, Vossloh said it had completed the acquisition of Australian company Rail Technology International Pty Ltd, a specialist in automated rail inspection. Vossloh said the deal expands its solutions for assessing rail condition and its data and analytics capabilities. RTI uses ultrasonic and eddy current technologies, with software that visualizes and analyzes inspection data. Vossloh said RTI is headquartered in Melbourne and employs around 50 people.
Rail-maintenance projects
In a September 24 product news release, Vossloh said it was delivering a VTM-compact rail milling machine and a smart HSG-city grinding machine to Railway Corporation (Pty) Limited in South Africa. The smart HSG-city includes Vossloh’s mapl-e digital analysis platform and is designed for Cape-gauge networks. Vossloh said the machines will support maintenance of railway lines used to transport coal, iron ore and other raw materials.
