Japan data-center collaboration

In a September 17, 2026, press release, Wärtsilä said Wärtsilä Corporation and Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Co., Ltd. had signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly evaluate power-supply solutions for data centers in Japan. The memorandum was signed in Helsinki in August 2026.

The framework covers gas- or dual-fuel engine-based power-generation solutions for selected data-center opportunities being developed by TGES. The companies plan to develop initial technical concepts, establish performance parameters and assess the feasibility of selected projects. Wärtsilä said the work combines TGES’s local market and project-development expertise with its experience in data-center power-plant concepts.

U.S. market event

In a separate September 8, 2026, company release, Wärtsilä said President and CEO Håkan Agnevall would ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell in New York. The company described the event as marking its continued growth in the U.S. market and said its U.S. workforce was twice the size it had been at the end of the previous decade.
