The Walt Disney Company launched Verts on the ABC News app on October 5, 2026, introducing a vertical-video feed with reporting from ABC News linear, streaming and owned-station programming, as well as original content from anchors, correspondents, analysts and featured voices. Disney said Verts was first introduced on ESPN in August 2025 and has since been used by more than 26 million people on mobile devices. The company reported more than 1.8 billion minutes of viewing time in the ESPN app, where Verts accounts for 65% of user-initiated short-form video starts. Disney also said approximately 43% of mobile Disney+ users have interacted with Verts. The company’s announcement said Disney plans to expand Verts to ABCNews.com on mobile and web.
