- Demand spans air defense, radar, electronic warfare, guided munitions and communications systems.
- Capacity, technology and research spending increased as the company prepared to convert orders into deliveries.
Aselsan's order backlog exceeded USD 30 billion at the end of September, according to Hürriyet Daily News on October 28, 2026. The report followed financial results released on October 27 for the first nine months of the year.
Orders and exports accelerate
Aselsan secured USD 14 billion in new contracts during the first nine months of 2026. New export contracts rose 34 percent year over year to USD 1.9 billion, adding an international dimension to the company's order growth.
Revenue increased 28 percent in real terms to TRY 151.5 billion. Demand was strongest across air defense, radar, electronic warfare, guided munitions and communications systems. Adjusted EBITDA rose 38 percent to TRY 40.6 billion, while the margin widened by 1.9 percentage points to 26.8 percent.
Capacity remains the next test
Aselsan increased production-capacity and technology investment by 228 percent to USD 684 million. The first phase of its O?ulbey Technology Base began operating during the period, while additional facilities, robotics and automation projects expanded its manufacturing base.
Research and development spending rose 36 percent to USD 1.3 billion, with work focused on satellite technology, quantum computing, underwater systems and microelectronics. The scale-up is intended to help the company turn its growing order book into deliveries without allowing production capacity to become a constraint.
Company profile and competitive setting
Aselsan is a Türkiye-based defense electronics company serving markets for air defense, radar, electronic warfare, guided munitions and secure communications. Its portfolio gives it a broad systems position across military electronics rather than a single-product niche. The latest figures point to a company combining domestic defense demand with expanding export activity, although execution capacity remains central to its competitive position.
