ASSAD stock gains 4.29 percent and Algeria listing advances
Published on 10/08/2026 at 05:06 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSASSAD (ISIN TN0007140015) was last at TND 2.190 on the Bourse de Tunis on October 1, 2026, up 4.29 percent from the prior close of TND 2.100. The latest corporate development is an Algerian listing application for the group's battery subsidiary.
Algerian listing enters review
According to Tera Finances on September 29, 2026, the Algerian financial market's single window examined ASSAD's request to introduce Batteries ASSAD Algeria on the Algiers Stock Exchange. The application was still at an early stage of the admission process.
The proposed transaction would open 25 percent to 30 percent of the subsidiary's capital and seek DZD 1 billion before the end of 2026, according to the same Tera Finances report. The proceeds are intended for production lines and a battery recycling plant.
First-half figures weaken
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, ASSAD reported revenue of TND 41.15 million, down 18.9 percent from TND 50.73 million a year earlier. According to Entreprises Magazine on September 30, 2026, the company moved from a TND 0.23 million profit in the first half of 2025 to a TND 18.02 million net loss in the first half of 2026.
Operating profit also fell to TND 0.46 million from TND 3.66 million in the comparable period. The report attributed the revenue decline mainly to a temporary delay in renewing the Algerian subsidiary's import license and difficult export conditions.
Capacity target raises execution stakes
Batteries ASSAD Algeria produced 400,000 batteries in 2025 and aims to reach 1 million units annually. The plan links the potential listing to manufacturing expansion and recycling, giving the financing process a direct operating objective.
The contrast with the parent company's latest annual picture is material. The ASSAD 2025 annual report showed individual revenue of TND 111.955 million, up 8 percent, while consolidated revenue stood at TND 143.161 million and consolidated net income at TND 3.342 million for fiscal year 2025, according to the Tunisian Financial Market Council.
