Banca Transilvania set out an expanded growth agenda at its October Investor Day, including a target of EUR 100 billion in group assets by 2030. The company said it plans to grow organically above the market rate and pursue selective acquisitions in existing and new markets, according to Romania Insider.

Expansion becomes the central theme

The strategy was presented on October 2, 2026, during BT Investor Day. The group said the plan should support a customer base of more than 7.5 million across its Romanian ecosystem while extending its presence into new markets.

Romania Insider reported that group assets reached RON 233.3 billion at the end of June. It also said Banca Transilvania had 4.5 million active retail customers and 1.6 million loans, making it Romania's largest lender by that measure.

Milestones across financial services

In its October 30, 2026 group update, Banca Transilvania said BT Pensii had reached 300,000 participants and more than RON 1 billion in assets across its voluntary pension funds. BT Capital Partners had reached 35,000 brokerage accounts opened through the BT Pay app, twice the level reported for June.

The company also highlighted cooperation with PKO Bank Polski to help Romanian and Polish companies expand across the two countries. A new Bank Friday campaign is scheduled for November 6, with more than 40 offers for retail customers, entrepreneurs and members of the Romanian diaspora, according to Banca Transilvania.

Romania's largest bank

Banca Transilvania operates a broad financial-services group centered on retail banking, lending and savings, with additional activities in investments, brokerage and private pensions. Its main market is Romania, while the group is also pursuing cross-border business links and potential expansion into other markets.

The company is described as Romania's largest bank and largest lender by loan portfolio. Its scale comes from a broad domestic customer base and a growing ecosystem of banking and non-banking financial services.
