Boliden reported a strong third quarter on October 29, 2026, as higher metal prices and stable production lifted revenue and operating profit. The company said performance improved across its mines and smelters, while major investment projects continued to advance. Boliden published the figures at 13:00 CET on October 29.

Profit rises on stronger metal prices

Revenue reached SEK 30.442 billion, compared with SEK 21.971 billion in the year-earlier quarter. Operating profit increased to SEK 5.416 billion from SEK 3.237 billion, while operating profit excluding process inventory revaluation rose to SEK 4.894 billion from SEK 2.752 billion.

Free cash flow was SEK 1.121 billion, down from SEK 2.284 billion a year earlier. Earnings per share rose to SEK 13.69 from SEK 8.07. Boliden attributed the stronger performance to improved prices and terms alongside stable production in both Mines and Smelters.

Operations and guidance diverge

Somincor delivered strong production, Kevitsa reached a record milled volume and Garpenberg improved according to plan. Harjavalta set a record for nickel feed, while availability at the new roaster in Odda increased toward the end of the quarter.

Boliden lowered its grade guidance for Aitik but increased its milled volume guidance for 2026. The company also reported progress at the Odda roaster and said the Rönnskär tankhouse was close to ramp-up.

Boliden expands its metal portfolio

Boliden explores, mines, smelts and recycles metals for industrial and societal needs. The Swedish group operates across Europe, has around 8,000 employees and is listed in the Large Cap segment of Nasdaq Stockholm.

Its business spans mining and smelting rather than a single metal niche, giving it exposure to copper, zinc, nickel and other industrial metals. Boliden's competitive position is defined by its integrated European production network and its combination of mines, smelters and recycling operations.
