Brickworks stock: Horsley Park biomethane project moves toward funding

On October 14, 2026, Business News Australia reported that Delorean Corporation had signed a proposed 20 million Australian dollar financing mandate with Westpac for a biomethane plant at Brickworks' Horsley Park site in Western Sydney. The arrangement remains non-binding and still requires detailed documents before the financing can be relied upon.
Funding remains the key condition
The planned facility has an estimated capital cost of 62.1 million Australian dollars. The proposed Westpac facilities and previously announced government grants would cover 50.5 million Australian dollars, leaving 11.6 million Australian dollars to be sourced, according to the report.
Delorean and Brickworks extended the financial close deadline to November 18, 2026. Construction is targeted for December, subject to binding financing and completion of the remaining funding package.
Renewable gas for manufacturing
Delorean would own and operate the plant on land leased from Brickworks Building Products beside the Horsley Park brickworks. The facility is designed to process 120,000 tonnes of source-separated organic waste each year and produce about 253,000 gigajoules of biomethane.
Brickworks would take the gas from first production through the end of the 25-year lease. Delorean estimates the supply could replace about half of the adjacent brick plant's natural-gas use and reduce the site's Scope 1 emissions by about 38 percent. The project is expected to reach commissioning in 2028 after an estimated 21-month construction period.

Brickworks Building Products is the manufacturing arm identified in the report, while Brickworks' investor website presents the group as a diversified industrial business with operations and brands spanning Australia, North America and New Zealand. Its Horsley Park site is in New South Wales, Australia.
