The market infrastructure operator also reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of ARS 79.97 billion, up 25 percent year over year, giving the share move a stronger operating backdrop.
Revenue grows while profit slips
According to S&P Merval Earnings Review dated September 16, 2026, BYMA's second-quarter revenue rose 25 percent in real year-over-year terms to ARS 79.97 billion. Net income declined 9 percent in real terms to ARS 59.3 billion, equivalent to earnings per share of ARS 7.77.
The contrast points to a key issue for investors: operating activity expanded, but lower financial income and valuation effects weighed on earnings. The exchange segment generated ARS 49.6 billion, up 13 percent year over year, while custody revenue reached ARS 30.4 billion after rising 52 percent in real terms.
MSCI transition sets a date
BYMA's most visible strategic catalyst is the planned handover of its benchmark indexes. El Fondo reported on September 22, 2026 that MSCI will launch the MSCI Merval Index and the MSCI BYMA Argentina General Index on October 19, 2026.
The two benchmarks will replace the current S&P Merval and BYMA General Index references. For BYMA, the change links its core market infrastructure to a globally recognized index administrator and creates a platform for additional products tied to the new benchmarks.
Stock remains below yearly high
The October 6 price was ARS 90.50 below the 52-week high of ARS 351.75 and ARS 90.25 above the 52-week low of ARS 171.00. Trading volume reached 3,493,638 shares, while the market capitalization stood at ARS 2.0 trillion on the same date.
BYMA operates trading, clearing, settlement and custody services in Argentina. Its investor-relations page identifies Caja de Valores as its main subsidiary, with BYMA holding a 99.96 percent stake, and describes the group as an integrated capital-market infrastructure provider.
