- Coface increased nine-month revenue at constant exchange rates while group net income declined from the prior year.
- Non-insurance activities grew faster than credit insurance, led by Business Information, Debt Collection and factoring.
- Higher costs, insurance finance expenses and elevated corporate defaults remain key issues for the outlook.
Coface reported stronger revenue but lower profit for the first nine months of 2026 on Monday, November 2. The company said revenue reached 1,413.3 million euros, up 1.7 percent at constant exchange rates and perimeter, while group net income fell 11.8 percent to 155.5 million euros.
The figures were released by FinanzNachrichten, which reproduced the company announcement. Third-quarter revenue rose 5.4 percent on a reported basis to 474.1 million euros, while quarterly net income declined 8.4 percent to 47.7 million euros.
Services Offset Insurance Headwinds
Non-insurance activities increased 10.0 percent at constant exchange rates and perimeter to 134.9 million euros. Business Information, Debt Collection and factoring all contributed to the expansion, while credit insurance revenue grew 0.9 percent on the same basis. Client retention remained high at 93.1 percent, but pricing was still negative at 1.3 percent.
Coface said the net loss ratio improved by 1.9 percentage points to 37.7 percent. The net combined ratio nevertheless rose to 72.4 percent from 71.9 percent a year earlier as the cost ratio increased by 2.4 percentage points to 34.7 percent. The company attributed the pressure to continued investment, higher insurance finance expenses and a difficult claims environment.
What Investors Watch Next
Operating income fell 7.2 percent to 242.8 million euros, and annualized return on average tangible equity was 10.7 percent. Coface said corporate defaults remained high and that it had increased preventive measures while maintaining a high acceptance rate for clients.
