The agreement adds an international value-fashion brand to a group whose second-quarter revenue reached MXN 57.29 billion.
Primark expands the retail portfolio
Primark announced the strategic partnership with El Puerto de Liverpool on September 10, 2026. The companies will jointly determine store locations, openings and the pace of the rollout, giving Liverpool a new route into value fashion while using its existing Mexican retail infrastructure.
The commercial logic is portfolio expansion rather than an immediate store-count story. El Puerto de Liverpool already operated 321 Liverpool and Suburbia stores, 173 specialty boutiques and 30 shopping centers at the end of the first half of 2026, according to Just Retail.
Profit growth exceeds sales growth
The latest operating figures add financial weight to the expansion. In the second quarter of 2026, revenue was MXN 57.29 billion and net income reached MXN 5.12 billion, according to Mexico Business.
Net income increased 55.3 percent year over year in the same quarter, while Liverpool department-store sales rose 3.1 percent to MXN 43.70 billion. Suburbia sales declined 6.6 percent to MXN 5.39 billion, making the Primark agreement relevant to the group strategy because it targets an accessible-fashion segment alongside an existing format with weaker quarterly sales.
Stock stays below yearly high
