- Net interest margin rose year over year, while securities restructuring reduced reported earnings.
Farmers National Banc Corp. reported third-quarter results on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with adjusted earnings of 47 cents per diluted share after acquisition, core conversion and securities restructuring costs. The company said the quarter marked the completion of its core technology conversion and continued integration of Middlefield Banc Corp.
Nasdaq reported GAAP net income of 14.5 million USD, compared with 12.5 million USD a year earlier. Acquisition and core conversion costs totaled 6.1 million USD, while a securities sale generated a 10.3 million USD loss. Excluding those and other specified items, adjusted net income was 28.0 million USD.
Integration drives next phase
Management said the Middlefield acquisition added 1.82 billion USD of assets and 1.49 billion USD of loans compared with the end of 2025. Net loans reached 4.80 billion USD at September 30, while total assets stood at 7.12 billion USD.
Net interest margin increased to 3.54% from 3.00% a year earlier. Farmers expects the margin to settle between 3.43% and 3.46% in the fourth quarter, helped by the securities restructuring, a steeper yield curve and higher Treasury yields.
The bank also plans to repay the remaining 72.0 million USD of subordinated notes on December 15, 2026. Management said the early redemption should benefit future financial performance, although the company continues to expect volatility in the bond market through 2026 and 2027.
