Hyundai Autoever reported stronger third-quarter revenue but weaker profitability on Friday, October 30, according to Yonhap News Agency. Revenue rose 16.2 percent year on year to KRW 1.22 trillion, while net income fell 14.9 percent to KRW 44.9 billion. Operating income declined 2.6 percent to KRW 68.9 billion.

Enterprise IT led the quarter

Enterprise IT, covering system integration and IT outsourcing, provided the main growth impulse. Demand for cloud migration and next-generation enterprise resource planning systems supported the segment as customers continued their digital transformation programs.

Revenue from vehicle software increased only 0.8 percent to KRW 199.9 billion. Hyundai Autoever attributed weaker profitability to the effects of U.S. tariffs and geopolitical risks, while overseas subsidiaries recorded balanced growth across the Americas, Europe, India and China.

Profitability stays in focus

The earnings outcome was below the average analyst estimate for net income of KRW 57.9 billion, Yonhap reported. The combination of double-digit sales growth and lower profit leaves execution in the vehicle software business and operating efficiency as key issues for investors.

For the first nine months, revenue rose 16.4 percent year on year to KRW 3.4111 trillion and operating income increased 1.0 percent to KRW 180.6 billion, according to ChosunBiz. That cumulative picture is stronger than the quarterly profit trend, but it does not remove the pressure on vehicle software margins.

Hyundai Autoever business profile

Hyundai Autoever is a South Korean mobility software company within Hyundai Motor Group. Its business is divided into enterprise IT, including system integration and IT outsourcing, and vehicle software covering automotive software services. The company serves customers across the Americas, Europe, India and China, with cloud, enterprise systems and connected-car services among its growth areas.

South Korea's broader IT-services market remains competitive, while Hyundai Autoever combines enterprise technology work for Hyundai Motor Group with automotive software specialization. Its near-term investment case therefore depends on whether enterprise IT growth can offset slower vehicle software expansion and restore profitability.
