Studio Dragon (KR7253450001) faces a lower valuation bar after KB Securities cut its target from KRW 39,000 to KRW 32,000 on October 13, 2026. The brokerage kept its Buy rating, while its forecast points to a sharper third quarter despite ongoing pressure on global streaming platforms, as Aju Press reported.
What does the target cut mean?
KB Securities forecast third-quarter operating profit of KRW 14.8 billion, matching consensus, while revenue and operating profit were projected to rise 12.2 percent and 40.9 percent year over year. The forecast also assigned 22 episodes to the tentpole production Slowly but Intensely, according to Aju Press.
The counterweight is execution risk in content production. KB Securities cited weaker recent performance at global over-the-top platforms, but argued that original content and Studio Dragon's global market and intellectual property expansion could support longer-term growth, the same report said.
Three target changes in October
On October 2, 2026, Samsung Securities lowered its target from KRW 33,000 to KRW 30,500 while maintaining its Buy rating and forecast third-quarter operating profit of KRW 18.0 billion, according to Yonhap News. On October 7, 2026, Hana Securities set a KRW 33,000 target after cutting it from KRW 37,000, as Newspim reported. KB Securities then delivered the latest cut on October 13, 2026, from KRW 39,000 to KRW 32,000, according to Business Post.
Strategy still carries a number
Business Post projected 2027 revenue of KRW 623.0 billion and operating profit of KRW 51.0 billion, representing growth of 15.4 percent and 10.9 percent against its comparison year. The figures show why analysts can remain constructive on Studio Dragon's longer-term model while reducing near-term valuation assumptions.
