Kolmar Korea is heading into its third-quarter reporting period with higher earnings expectations, while its US operations remain a key test for the company. The Herald Business reported on October 21, 2026, that securities analysts expect stronger results from South Korea's two leading cosmetics original design manufacturers.
Higher expectations for the third quarter
For Kolmar Korea, SK Securities estimated consolidated third-quarter revenue at KRW 837.4 billion and operating profit at KRW 95.7 billion. That would represent year-on-year growth of 22.6% in revenue and 58.6% in operating profit. Other estimates cited by The Herald Business put operating profit at KRW 91.2 billion from Kyobo Securities and KRW 97.7 billion from Yuanta Securities Korea.
The forecasts are based on continued demand for Korean beauty products and stronger orders from new and existing customers. In particular, analysts expect Kolmar Korea's US subsidiary to generate 123% year-on-year sales growth in the quarter. The comparison benefits from a weak prior-year base after order reductions by a major customer, while new customer orders are expected to support volumes.
US capacity is not yet fully utilized
The sales outlook is encouraging, but the US business has not yet reached profitability. The Herald Business reported operating losses of KRW 3.7 billion in the first quarter and KRW 1.4 billion in the second quarter, although the loss narrowed sequentially.
Kolmar Korea added a second US factory last year, raising annual production capacity from approximately 180 million units to about 300 million. However, the plants operated at only 8.8% utilization in the first half of 2026. Analysts therefore appear to be watching not only revenue growth, but also whether higher order volumes can improve fixed-cost absorption and margins.
What investors should monitor
The central investment question is whether the projected US growth can translate into a sustainable earnings contribution. The domestic business remains the main earnings base in the cited forecasts, while the US operation offers upside if new-client orders continue and utilization improves. These are analyst expectations rather than reported third-quarter results, so the eventual figures and management commentary will remain important for assessing the outlook.
